Ten Tips For Angel Financing Today
In 2002, angel investors invested $15 billion in 20,000 ventures nationwide.
This was a 50% drop from the year 2000 tech bubble. More than half
of this money goes to technology companies, where the ROI can be very
high. Typically investors seek a 40% return (IRR) per year to make
up for the high failure rate of well over 50%. This means they need
to get about 10X their money back in 4-5 years. If your venture can
not grow to about $50MM in that time then venture capitalists are not
likely to invest and creative deals with angels are a better route.

Get your
personal credit score to know in advance what banks, investors
and others might learn about you in any financing process. BTW don't
ever pay for a credit monitoring service, these are basically scams
like credit card insurance where you are not liable for anything over
$50 anyway - by law you are allowed to get your credit report from
all the agencies for FREE. What is NOT included is the key number generated
as a blended credit rating - you probably have to pay to get that.
